SCHOOL pupils from Keighley braved miserable weather to complete a key part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Nine students from Holy Family Catholic School were congratulated for finishing their two-day D of E bronze expedition.
A spokesman for their school said: "Having been fully equipped with cameras the two teams of four Holy Family students – named Riverdale Vixens and East Wildcats – gave a short presentation about their adventures to friends and staff in school.
"Had the participants known that the expedition would mean being out in pouring rain, carrying everything they needed for the two-day journey and being chased by horses they might have had second thoughts!
"But teamwork and a lot of singing helped to keep their spirits up and get them through the challenge.
"The DoE scheme has four sections – skill, physical activity, volunteering and the expedition.
"The majority of these students had already completed the other three sections, so they are now looking forward to receiving their bronze award."
