TOO many men at the BBC are paid "eye watering" salaries, says a district MP.
And he claims their pay should be reduced to match that of their female counterparts.
Philip Davies, whose Shipley constituency includes Cullingworth and Denholme, said in the Commons that the BBC was run "like an old boys' club" and urgent change was needed.
Equalities Minister Amber Rudd said she would be speaking to the corporation about pay.
Mr Davies asked: "When she has a word with the BBC, will it be her contention that it is the men who are overpaid or the women that are underpaid?"
Mrs Rudd replied: "That is almost a philosophical question – my priority is equality."
