DENHOLME residents have until this Friday (March 2) to give their views on plans for a new zebra crossing.

Bradford Council is looking at several potential locations for the pedestrian crossing on Main Road, the section of the 8629 Halifax Road running through the village.

A council spokesman said: “We have considered a number of locations for the crossing. This has included taking local people’s views into consideration.

“Road safety is clearly a top priority for the council, so it is important we get measures like this right.

“The consultation remains open so we welcome further submissions from interested parties.”

Although Denholme already has at least two pedestrian crossings on Main Road, the villagers faced an influx of residents due to several major new housing developments in recent years.

The council said it had consulted with the Chief Officer of Police and informed the Secretary of State about its proposals to install the pedestrian crossing.

Email comments to legalobjections@bradford.gov.uk no later than noon on March 2 quoting reference CORP/PCD/LD/400347.

A drawing showing the proposed crossing can be examined at the customer services reception at City Hall in Bradford, as well as Bingley and Shipley libraries.
