KEIGHLEY food company Clearly Scrumptious has become the apple of Morrisons’ eye.

The supermarket chain has extended the range of Scrummies fruit snacks that it offers at more than 200 stores across the country.

Morrisons last month began stocking six flavours of single pack Scrummies including the new-tour-market apple flavour.

The fruit has joined the already-popular flavours of blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, cherry and blackcurrant.

Scrummies multipacks will be stocked at more than 300 Morrisons stores, costing £2.

Clearly Scrumptious director James Feddo said: “Gaining the listing of Scrummies singles is a big step forward for the brand. It’s really exciting to see our range with Morrisons develop enabling us to give customers more choice and still offer a good value healthy treat.

“The current trend is that parents want to be able to grab snacks while on the move and the single packs of Scrummies will allow more customers to try them at a lower price point and then stock up on their favourite flavours with the multipacks.

"Working with Morrisons has been a great way to start trading in grocery retail and we are excited about our plans for 2018 to expand the Scrummies range, providing new products and gaining further grocery listings.”

Scrummies are a mix of cranberries and raisins with natural fruit flavours, made from whole fruits with no shapes or pieces.

James said the product helped children identify fruit as a treat instead of traditional confectionary items.

He added: “Scrummies are vegan, 100 per cent natural, gluten free, dairy free and contain no added sugar. In addition, one pack also counts as one of your five-a-day.”

Clearly Scrumptious, based in Valley Road, Keighley, was developed by local men .
