A CHURCH in Haworth collecting money to fund a replacement kitchen is inviting people to attend its next fundraising talk.
West Lane Baptist Church is aiming to raise roughly £10,000 to fund the project.
Earlier this year it hosted a talk by Haworth-based historian Stephen Whitehead on Arthur Bell Nicholls, who was the was the husband of Charlotte Brontë. This event raised £140 for the kitchen fund.
At the end of this month the church will host a talk by Haworth resident Kevin Fawcett about his much-loved canine friend Rufus.
The presentation takes place on Easter Saturday – March 31 – from 2pm to 4pm. Refreshments will be provided and dogs will also be very welcome.
The church's Reverend, Chris Upton, said generous people have been donating items for the church to sell to raise cash for the new kitchen.
Donated goods have so far included a Wii games system, a dehumidifier, a bread maker and a Kenwood food mixer.
The church's current kitchen is heavily used and is now about 20 years old.
Rev Upton said other individuals and organisations wishing to support the appeal can contact him by calling 07976 287117.
