POLICE investigating the death of an elderly man in Keighley have released details of two vehicles they want to trace.

Both cars were travelling along Lawkholme Lane at about 1.08pm on Thursday, February 15 – around the same time as an 81-year-old man came off his mobility scooter and suffered serious head injuries, which proved fatal.

One is a silver car (pictured), thought to be a Honda Accord and probably registered between 2002 and 2005, and the other a purple car, believed to be a Ford Fiesta.

The West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating the incident and the possibility that the victim may have been struck by another vehicle after coming off his scooter.

It is keen to identify the occupants of the two cars as part of its enquiries and is appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.

Senior Investigating Officer, Sergeant Ann Drury, said: “We urgently need to speak to the occupants of these vehicles as we believe they may have information which could assist our enquiries.

“If anyone recognises the vehicles, or may have been driving one in Lawkholme Lane at just after 1pm on February 15, we would urge them to contact us so we can make further enquiries and progress our investigation.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team on 101, quoting reference 13180076831.
