A COUNCILLOR warned that older residents in an Oxenhope street were stuck in their homes for a week recently due to snow and ice.
Cllr Peter McManus said he had been contacted about the plight of elderly people living in flats in West Drive.
He asked whether it would be possible for a grit bin to be located outside the flats, to help people make this sloping street safer during wintry weather.
Parish council chairman Cllr Ken Eastwood said the residents had raised a good point.
He successfully proposed that the parish council should contact Bradford Council to request provision of a grit bin at this spot.
