A FLOORING business rolled out the red carpet to mark the opening of its shop in Keighley.

Flooring Superstore has invested £125,000 and created three new jobs by opening the shop in Alston Retail Park.

It is the fourth store opened by the firm nationally in three months and will sell products from the brands Flooring Superstore, Direct Wood Flooring and Grass Direct.

The brands are owned by Connection Retail, a company which started life as a purely online retailer just six years ago.

Managing director Dan Foskett said: “We’re delighted to have been able to choose Keighley to be the venue for our tenth UK store.

“We’ve built up a significant online presence since starting trading in 2012, but through our bricks-and-mortar expansion, this year we’ve been able to open physical stores in Newport, Swindon, Edinburgh and now Keighley.”

Jy-Mel Coleman, manager in Keighley, said: “We’re offering customers a one-stop-shop for all their flooring needs, reflecting the fact they are likely to have multiple flooring choices inside and outside their home.

“We’re predicting a 20% rise in artificial grass sales this year."

To mark reaching the milestone of ten stores, Flooring Superstore invited its charity partner The Prince’s Trust to perform the opening in Keighley.

Lucy Hornsby, head of business development at The Prince’s Trust, said: “We feel privileged to be part of the celebrations as the company reaches this impressive milestone.

“I’m sure the ambition of their management and staff won’t stop at 10 and they’ll continue to go from strength to strength.”
