LESSONS are adding up for pupils at a Keighley school.

Year-three youngsters at Nessfield Primary were visited by Chris Day, from Day & Co estate agents, who demonstrated how he uses spreadsheets to collect and order data.

The pupils then used the information to ask questions about the types and sizes of properties around Keighley.

A school spokesman said: "We had been looking at statistics in maths, the local area in geography and spreadsheets in computing, so we put all these skills together.

"The children asked Chris lots of different questions about house types, sales and numbers of bedrooms to help them make sense of the spreadsheet.

"They compared what his data showed to what we already knew about types and sizes of houses in other areas of the UK."

Pupil Lucas Francis said: "I liked talking to Chris about the different houses and finding out all the things we could do on a spreadsheet.

"I can now make my own spreadsheet in the next computing lesson."

Mr Day said he had hugely enjoyed the visit.

"I was really impressed with how much the children knew about the types of houses," he added.
