POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash at Silsden which left a pedestrian seriously injured.

A man in his 30s became trapped when a silver Vauxhall Corsa travelling up Bolton Road collided with a parked car, a black Ford Focus.

Firefighters attended to help paramedics get the casualty onto a spinal board.

The injured man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where his condition is described as "critical but stable".

Several people at the scene were treated for shock.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident, which happened at about 7pm on Tuesday, to come forward.

They would also like to speak to anybody who saw the vehicles prior to the collision.
