A 10-strong team which took part in the Keighley BigK 10K earlier this spring has revealed the impressive sum it raised for Manorlands.

The runners from Armstrong Watson’s Skipton office between them generated a whopping £1,340 for the hospice.

It was the first time the accountancy firm had put together a team to take part in the sponsored Keighley event and all managed to complete the course in times of under one hour five minutes.

A spokesman for the company said: "Our team was very keen to support Manorlands Hospice and the crucial care that this charity provides to individuals and their families facing life-changing illnesses.

"Spurred on by this year’s success, the participants have vowed to compete in next year’s race and have all signed up for the Santa £5K Fun Run in November in aid of the same charity."

Head of the running team Rhys Davies, who is Armstrong Watson's audit and assurance manager said: “It was fantastic to take part in an event supporting such a vital local cause.

"We’re extremely grateful to all those who sponsored us, including Armstrong Watson which added £250 to take the total raised to £1,340.

"We all appreciate how important Manorlands is to the area and it is a charity very close to our hearts.”
