A GROUP of men left their stash of drugs behind when they were cornered by police in a cul-de-sac in Highfield.

Officers on patrol in Keighley yesterday afternoon (April 17) spotted the three men in a red VW at the bottom of Simpson Street.

On noticing police, the men jumped out the car and ran off, abandoning the vehicle at the bottom of the road - which is blocked off to traffic.

After searching the car police found a cardboard cigarette box containing wraps of what is believed to be illegal drugs.

Addressing the suspects on Twitter, PC Caroline Foster said: "If you want your car back do get in touch. Don’t worry, your stash hasn’t been stolen. I’ve taken it for safe keeping."
