TWO new deputy medical directors have been appointed at Airedale Hospital.
David Crampsey – an ear, nose and throat consultant – has taken on the role of deputy medical director for surgery.
"This is an exciting opportunity for me to work in a progressive trust which has consistently punched above its weight – and has pioneered several healthcare innovations which have gained national recognition," he said.
"I have worked in other healthcare systems in the UK and New Zealand and hope to bring some of that experience to help build on Airedale's excellent reputation."
Dr Alan Hart-Thomas, a respiratory consultant, has already been working with the trust for two years.
He said: "The development of an integrated care system – with partners from health, social care, mental health, community services and the voluntary sector – is a really exciting opportunity for us to provide increasingly high-quality care for everyone in a time of tighter budgets.
"I moved from Calderdale and Huddersfield after six years there gaining experience as a respiratory consultant and medical manager, for the opportunity to develop health services in the area I actually live in."
