A PHYSIOTHERAPIST took the plunge to celebrate his retirement.
Kelvin Whiting's leaving 'do' included a video and speeches, before – in a traditional ceremony – he was thrown by colleagues into a hydrotherapy pool!
More than 100 people attended the event.
Mr Whiting, who trained as a chartered physiotherapist 40 years ago, was the therapy manager and professional lead for physiotherapy at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
He said he had enjoyed a "very satisfying and rewarding" career, based mainly at Airedale Hospital.
He added: "I've been very lucky to have had a career that remains as relevant now as 40 years ago.
"The ability to get close to patients and share their personal experiences and difficulties is a privilege we should never take for granted."
