A NEW fundraiser is being launched in aid of Manorlands.

People are being challenged to walk, run or cycle the Settle Loop.

The course, which is just over 11 miles long and almost entirely on bridleways, starts and finishes at North Ribblesdale RUFC in Settle.

There will be marshals and route markers.

Refreshments will be available at the finish.

The event – on Sunday, May 27 – is being staged by the town's Manorlands support group.

Co-organiser, Emma Carr, said: "We hope the event will appeal to everyone, whatever their age or fitness level.

"The walk can be done individually or in family groups, with no minimum age for children.

"The mountain bike ride and run are more challenging and we hope they will attract an array of participants of various abilities."

Entry costs £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s.

Molly Ralphson, community fundraiser at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, said: "This is shaping-up to be a great new event and the members of Settle Fundraising Support Group are doing a sterling job in organising it on behalf of Manorlands.

"It would be great if outdoor enthusiasts could get behind the event and support the hospice by entering and spreading the word."
