AN ELDERLY man is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in Oakworth.
The man was taken to hospital in Leeds after he was involved in a collision with a car in Keighley Road, near Oakworth Medical Practice, at 11.22am yesterday. (May 9)
It is thought the man, an 88 year-old pedestrian, suffered serious head injuries.
A statement issued by West Yorkshire Police this morning read: "Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Keighley which left an elderly man seriously injured.
"It happened yesterday when a brown Ford Focus travelling along Keighley Road towards the town centre was in collision with an 88-year-old male pedestrian, close to the junction with Lidget in Oakworth.
"He was taken to hospital where his condition is said to be critical but stable.
"The driver of the vehicle, a male who is also in his eighties, was spoken to by officers at the scene."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the circumstances prior to it is asked to contact the Western Area Roads Policing Team on 101, quoting log 624 of May 9.
