A FAMILY fun day is being staged as part of a cricket club's 150th-anniversary celebrations.
The event takes place at Steeton Cricket Club, Summerhill Lane, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28, from 11am.
Attractions will include a bouncy castle and surf simulator.
There will also be a raffle and tombola, and the bar will be open all day.
Bacon butties will be available, a barbecue will run from 2.30pm and – starting at 3pm – a current Steeton XI will take on a team of veterans and former players.
Admission to the event is free.
The club's anniversary celebrations officially began with a President's Day last month, when the first team opened the new season at home to Tong Park Esholt.
Ex-players were invited, and organisers were bowled over with the response.
"The day was a great success – with a number of former players and their partners enjoying a buffet and the first game of the season," said the club vice-chairman, Hayden Tennant.
