POLICE are hunting for a man who tried to con money out of an elderly Keighley resident by claiming to be from Yorkshire Water.
The incident happened at an address in Westburn Avenue.
West Yorkshire Police have now issued an image of man who they want to identify in connection with the bogus caller report.
A spokesman for the police said: "This occurred on April 12 at around 12.30pm, when a man called at a property in Westburn Avenue, claiming to be from Yorkshire Water.
"He told the elderly occupant her drain was blocked and produced an invoice. No money was handed over and enquiries with Yorkshire Water confirmed no one was working in the area that day."
Detective constable Paul Eccleston, of Bradford District CID, said: “We've carried out a number of enquiries to identify this male, as it's possible he may have called at other addresses in the area.
“He's described as being in his mid to late twenties and around six feet tall.
“Anyone who can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101, quoting crime reference 131801 72508 or use the ‘Contact Us’ options at westyorkshire.police.uk
"Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
