AWARD-winning comic Sarah Kendall is performing at the Alhambra Studio in Bradford on June 9.

She recently won the Best Radio Comedy award at the Writers’ Guild Awards and has also been a nominee in the Foster’s Best Comedy Award.

She’s also picked up awards with the BBC and in Australia for work described as “a mini masterpiece of tragicomic storytelling”.

The Guardian newspaper described Sarah’s live show as an artful, engaging hour that squared the circles between truth and contrivance, tragedy and comedy.

Sarah has been nominated twice for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, and Total Fringe Sell Out 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The Australian stand-up comedy star is now touring with her Edinburgh show One-Seventeen, described as a blistering new hour of storytelling.

Sarah is the creator and star of the critically-acclaimed hit BBC Radio 4 series Australian Trilogy, whose second series is due to broadcast later this year.

A spokesman said: “One- Seventeen is an eclectic mix of connected short stories: a family in crisis waiting to see Halley’s Comet, a hamster with organ failure, an astronaut re-entering the atmosphere.

“One-Seventeen is a show about a number, and all the people contained inside it. Kendall - a storytelling maestro - is at the top of her game, effortlessly combining comedy and tragedy in equal measure.”
