THE organisers of an appeal to help a disabled girl with severe cerebral palsy will be staging a bun sale in Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre.

The sale, which will run from 9am in the centre this Saturday, (June 2) will support 11-year-old Charlotte Wormald.

Charlotte is due to travel to a sanatorium in the Czech Republic this July to receive intensive therapy for her condition.

Charlotte now lives in Menston but was born in Airedale Hospital and previously lived in Riddlesden.

The bake sale in the Airedale Centre has been arranged by her grandmother, June Wormald, of Steeton.

Mrs Wormald said: “We’ll be selling home made buns and cakes from 9am till late afternoon, or until we sell them all.

“We’ve had 12 different bakers involved in making these, so we’ve been very well supported.”

Charlotte suffered serious health problems when she was just a few days old. She and her twin sister, Emily, were born 14 weeks prematurely.

From the age of eight months she has travelled to the Czech Republic and more recently to Slovakia for specialist treatment, and always shows significant improvement after receiving this therapy.
