A TEAM of charity volunteers responsible for two earlier trips to Bangladesh to help refugees in desperate need of help have returned to this country.

The group from the 1 Vision organisation includes Keighley volunteers Razaq Hussain and Aroj Ali, as well as Kashif Khan from Bradford, Asif Nazir from Oldham and Hamza Khan from Luton.

They and their supporters have collected £62,800, which they are now using to buy more aid for Rohingya refugees in south eastern Bangladesh, who have been driven out of their homes in neighbouring Burma.

The 1 Vision team left for Bangladesh on June 1 and are due to return on June 12.

Mr Hussain, a Keighley-based businessman, said the cash they have collected will be used to buy the refugees Ramadan evening meals and also large food packs, each of which can feed a family of five for two weeks.

He thanked the aid trip’s main sponsor, the company Mr Compensator, for its support, adding that he and his colleagues aim to raise a further £10,000 for the Rohingya while they are in Bangladesh.
