A KEIGHLEY women’s project is looking to the past, present and future with its latest activities.

The E5 Keighley Women and Girls Empowerment Project is hosting a special event looking at women’s changing place in society of the decades.

Participants will learn about the suffragettes, share stories in small group conversations, take part in creative arts, and discuss how to close the ‘gender gap’ for women and girls, and put questions to a panel made up of local councillors, the police and Keighley MP John Grogan.

The event, presented by E5’s Women of Keighley Project, will be on Friday, June 29, from 9.30am to 1pm at Central Hall in Alice Street. Email joh@cabad.org.uk or call 07539 684668. Booking essential.

E5 and KAWACC plan a four-day development programme for women of all backgrounds, ages and stages of their lives. Project worker Jo Horrox said: “It allows women to enhance their own skills and abilities, challenge power and equality while building confidence, assertiveness and a positive image.

“It covers areas of career development, realistic self-assessment aspects of being a woman, stress management, setting goals, improving your health, improving communication skills and building better relationships.”

The workshops will run on July 4 & 5 and September 18 & 19, and transport will be provided from Keighley to the Bingley venue. Email n is azkazmi@kawacc.org.uk or call 07572 458534 to book places.
