SUNFLOWER Bean are popping over the Atlantic from New York to perform a UK tour.

The Brooklyn trio promise to “go Fleetwood Mac” with a set of songs channelling the folk-rock legends’ albums Dreams and Rumours albums.

The group, which includes Jacob Faber, Julia Cumming and Nick Kivlen, have just issued their second record, Twentytwo in Blue, and recently toured Europe.

The band released Twentytwo in Blue in March, when all three members were 22 years old, almost two years and two months after the release of their critically-acclaimed 2016 debut album Human Ceremony.

The album was co-produced by Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Jacob Portrait, who also mixed the record, and producer Matt Molnar of Friends.

The album shows Sunflower Bean stay true to their guitar band core and classic rock-inspired roots, while exploring new sonic textures with more direct and progressive themes.

Unlike their debut, which was essentially a compilation of songs Sunflower Bean wrote while still in their teens, Twentytwo in Blue was made in the year between December 2016 and December 2017 and showcases how far the band has come since playing together in their high school days.

Sunflower Bean play Leeds Festival on August 26; Central Library, Hull, August 27; Hebden Bridge Trades Club, August 28; The Church, Leeds, November 20; Manchester Academy, November 27.

Rumours was the eleventh studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1977 after being recorded in California the previous year.

The band wanted to expand on the commercial success of their 1975 album, but struggled with relationship breakups before recording started.

The Rumours studio sessions were marked by hedonistic behaviour and interpersonal strife among band members, which shaped the album’s lyrics.

Regarded as one of the best albums of the 1970s, Rumours went on to sell more than 40 million copies and featured singles “Go Your Own Way”, “Dreams”, “Don’t Stop”, and “You Make Loving Fun”.
