Keighley Town Council will celebrate all things Yorkshire on Wednesday August 1.

As part of Yorkshire Day the town council-run family fun day will be held on Church Green between 10am and 4pm.

This year, voluntary and community organisations are being invited to come forward and join in the new Keighley Town Council Yorkshire Day walking parade for the same day.

Interested organisations should contact the chairman of the council Events and Leisure Committee, Councillor Kaneez Akthar. They can e-mail cllr.kakthar@keighley.gov.uk or call the town council office on 01535 618252.

The deadline for registering a place in the parade is July 20.

Cllr Akthar said: “Everyone is welcome to participate in our fun day and walking parade. We look forward to celebrating all that is great about Yorkshire."

Attractions on Church Green will include face painting, inflatables, a penalty shoot-out, a bungee trampoline, hook-a-duck and refreshments.
