COUNCILLORS who have stepped down from Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council were thanked for their service.

There are now two vacancies on the council, following the recent departure of both councillors Angel Kershaw and Sarah Garner.

Speaking at the latest meeting, council chairman Cllr David Mahon, said: "I'd like to put on record our thanks to Cllrs Angel Kershaw and Sarah Garner for their hard work.

"We appreciate everything they've done for the council, and it's sad to lose them both."

Cllr Kershaw announced her resignation last month after six years on the parish council. Cllr Garner had been on the parish council since November 2016.

Council clerk Lisa Balderstone told the meeting the vacancies on the council were now being advertised.

These will be filled via a by-election if enough parishioners request one, or via a co-option.
