PEOPLE are invited to celebrate with Bradford dance group Kala Sangam at 7pm on July 21.

The company, at St Peter’s House in Forster Square, is holding its end of term showcase of children and young people’s dance and music – Kala Utsav.

The evening features performances by Kala Sangam’s Bharatanatyam Academy students and participants from each of the classes run at the Intercultural Arts Centre, giving the audience a full flavour of what the company does.

This year’s programme also features the very best young dancers from throughout the region with guest performers from across Yorkshire.

Punjabi Roots Academy (PRA) will open the show with a “loud and proud” set of Bhangra and Dhol drumming. PRA run bhangra and dhol classes on Wednesday evenings at Kala Sangam.

There’ll also be an energetic performance by the talented young boys who attend the free No Bounds dance classes ran by Phoenix Dance Theatre at Kala Sangam on Thursday evenings.

Two groups from DAZL (Dance Action Zone Leeds) will perform at the show. DAZL respond to the needs of children, young people and local communities by offering fun, relevant and accessible dance opportunities.

Kala Utsav is free, but people should book places in advance to avoid disappointment. Call 01274 303340 or visit kalasangam.org/kalautsav
