YOUNGSTERS from Glusburn Community Primary School were treated to a variety of engaging activities inspired by the subjects of design and technology and history.
Children had a go at making their own vehicles and received a talk from a member of a Virgin Airline aircraft cabin crew.
The highlight of the week was arranged by teacher Lucy Jardine, who was supported by local vehicle enthusiasts and parents. This involved the pupils being introduced to a wide range of different vehicles.
A spokesman for the school said it had been a "wonderful experience" for the children. She added: "The cars ranged from a 1938 Citroen 2CV to a Lamborghini Huracan.
"The children got to see for themselves how design and need have changed the car industry. Also on view was an old and new tractor and an old bus.
"We would like to thank all those involved in the event, including Keighley Ford, Craven Old Wheels Society, Keighley Bus Museum Trust, MotorHub Keighley and the parents.
"Their time and support in making this successful is extremely appreciated by the Early Years Foundation Stage team and by our children."
Mrs Jardine said: "I'm thrilled with the outcome of the event. The children have had a real opportunity to touch history, which has inspired their own creations and designs."
Also during the summer term, Glusburn CP pupils have raised a significant sum through their fun run. This will go towards funding more ICT equipment for their school.
