AIREDALE NHS Foundation Trust has a new non-executive director.
Mark Lam has extensive global experience in telecommunications and IT.
He is currently chief technology and information officer with Openreach, a BT Group business.
The Oxford graduate is also a non-executive board director at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and a trustee of the University of Essex.
"The NHS is unique in the world – a great healthcare system run by the people for the people," said Mr Lam.
"I am privileged to be given the opportunity to contribute to the local community in this beautiful part of Yorkshire."
He moved to the area two years ago, and lives in Cononley.
His appointment is welcomed by Andrew Gold, chairman of the Airedale trust.
"Mark clearly has a passion for the NHS and a commitment to public service – both of which are essential in the role he has in helping the trust to achieve its goals," he said.
