MANORLANDS has received £3,000 raised in memory of a woman cared for at the hospice.

Family of Heather Gooch handed-over £2,000, much of which was donated at the funeral.

And a further £1,000 was presented by colleagues of Heather at CPA Engineered Solutions, who organised a 'virtual' bake sale.

On the company's Just Giving page, they paid tribute to "our beautiful colleague Heather" and said she was a great baker.

"She would often send us her creations – whether a chocolate cake or her 'show-stopper' coffee and walnut cake," they added.

"No matter what, it always came with her love."

Heather's husband, Dean, spoke about the high quality of care provided at Manorlands.

He added: "The family would like to extend its gratitude to everyone at Manorlands.

"We'd also like to thank all family, friends and work colleagues who contributed to the fundraising."

Hayley Ibbotson, senior community fundraiser at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, said: "Heather's friends and family really have honoured her with the funds they've raised in her memory, as have her colleagues by organising something so fitting to celebrate her life.

"The funds raised mean the world to us and will allow us to continue to provide care for those people who need us in the local community.

"We can only do this thanks to generous contributions like this, so it really does make such a difference."
