KALA SANGAM is hosting a week of creative dance and drama activities as part of its Summer Arts Camp from July 30 to August 3.

The intercultural arts hub, based in Bradford, is opening its camp to children and young people between the ages of seven and 13 and promises lots of creativity and imagination.

The week, inspired by the theme of “This is my Bradford!”, will see young participants create their own performance pieces about growing up in the city.

Kala Sangam has more than 20 years’ experience engaging children and young people from across Bradford and beyond.

This year, for the first time, children and young people who take part in the Summer Camp will have the chance to gain an Explore Arts Award.

This is a nationally-recognised qualification that helps children and young people build confidence, enjoy cultural activities, and prepare for further education whilst having fun.

Marianne Matusz, Education and Outreach Officer for Kala Sangam, said: “The Summer Camp will be really exciting – whether your child is already a budding dancer or actor, or just wants to try something new, the activities we have planned will be lots of fun!

“Working towards an Arts Award helps children and young people develop their critical and creative skills and express themselves, all with a certificate at the end.

“Our venue is the perfect place for busy parents to drop off their kids in a convenient city centre location.”

The summer camp is suitable for children and young people with any level of experience.
