KEIGHLEY schoolchildren and Cowling footballers are laughing all the way to the bank.

They have been awarded cash raised during a comedy night organised by the High Adventure centre in Cowling.

Cowling Football Club were given £1,000, while Victoria Primary School in Highfield was given £200 to spend on sports equipment.

Centre manager Mick Ellerton and instructor Toni Fryer presented the cheques, following the successful comedy night at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton.

The next Comedy Night organised by High Adventure will be on November 16. More details will be released later.

Nationally-renowned stand-up comics Dan Nightingale, Roger Monkhouse and Scott Bennett performed at the most recent comedy night.

Roger, who is also a actor, presenter,n writer and voice-over artist, is said to be a consummate stand-up comic who employs a combination of charm and menace.

A highly original and quirky performer, Roger’s trademark stage-prowling style and curious, inimitable manner have established him as one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit.

Originally from Preston, Dan started his comedy career while living in Newcastle in 2002.

He moved to Manchester within 12 months, going from barman at the Frog & Bucket, to booking agent, to hosting the new act night, and finally compering the weekends.

Scott started starting comedy in late 2009, and rapidly established himself as one of the fastest rising stars on the UK circuit.
