MEMBERS of an after school club at Worth Valley Primary School raised £169 for Manorlands.
The youngsters, who were part of the school’s Archbishop of York Young Leaders group, collected the cash by selling ice pops and ice lollies after school in their playground to fellow pupils. as well as to staff and parents.
Nursery teacher Julie Batey said the original intention had been to do this for a day.
But she said the pupils took advantage of the hot weather earlier this month to continue the charity selling for a whole week.
She added the young leaders club is designed to help get children involved with supporting local people.
Three of the Worth Valley Primary pupils involved with the club have received Keighley town mayor’s awards for their efforts to help their community.
