TO Walk Invisible – a drama about the Bronte family – features in a list of Yorkshire’s 50 most popular TV shows.

The public was asked to vote for its favourite programme filmed or set in the county.

And the 2016 BBC production about the legendary literary family, which was shot around Haworth, came in at 36.

The 90-minute programme, screened in a peak slot during the festive period, received widespread acclaim.

Another Bronte-related TV production – a 2009 version of Emily Bronte’s classic novel, Wuthering Heights – also makes the list, at 48.

More than 3,000 votes were cast in the poll, conducted by Dalesman magazine to celebrate the 50th anniversary of regional television in Yorkshire.

The winner – with 7.3 per cent of the overall vote – was period veterinary drama All Creatures Great and Small, starring Christopher Timothy and Robert Hardy.

Last of the Summer Wine was second, and Heartbeat third.
