BRIGHOUSE Town Under-21s began their pre-season friendlies with a thumping 6-0 win at Huddersfield YMCA. Town successfully pressed YMCA and and then Town counter-attacked well to deservedly lead 2-0 at half-time.
In the second half, although Town scored more goals, they were not as dominant as in the first half due to changes being made to give the whole squad a run-out, but every player made a positive impression.
The only negative of the game was centre half Josh Brocklehurst picking up a fractured and chipped ankle in the second half.
Brighouse's assistant manager Barry Thomas said: "It was an excellent performance all round, especially as we have had only four training sessions and quiet a few new faces in the squad."
Goal-scorers were Jack Normanton (2), Warren Hildred (2), Kiane Hall and Tylan Rowe.
