ARTISTS seen in Keighley will perform during the first Psych night at Leeds Wardrobe on August 31.

Keighley-based music promotions company Main Line Live hopes that Psych become a regular happening at the popular venue.

Keighley headliners Rock Bottom Risers will be joined by Oxenhope singer Ruth and Keighley gig veterans Violet Disguise.

Main Line Live who organised the Keighley Live Festival earlier this year.

Main Line spokesman Ronan Charnock said: “We’re pleased to be introducing Ruth, a spectacular alt-pop singer whose melodies will no doubt leave a strong impression on those witnessing her first Leeds performance.

“Based in Oxenhope, this wonderful singer will leave you hooked with her upbeat, harmonious melodies as well as her powerful lyrics.”

Rock Bottom Risers, a blues-rock quintet, were formed in 2012 by five school friends with their biggest influences being Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash.

Having played such festivals such as Beatherder, Bingley Music Live and Lichfield Fuse Festival, they recently released the single ‘The Collective Brain’.

Also on the bill at Site are Halifax-based Violet Disguise, with an eclectic DIY sound and raw, powerful lyrics.

Violet Disguise’s debut song ‘Dreamers’ and second single Bones were previewed on BBC Radio Introducing.

Burnley indie rock band McRae will make their Leeds debut following gigs in Manchester.

Headlining the event are the Rock Bottom Risers, a blues-rock quintet from Keighley formed in 2012 by five school friends with their biggest influences being Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash.

Having played such festivals along the lines of Beatherder, Bingley Music Live and Lichfield Fuse Festival, these gents are sure to deliver a quality performance as ever. Their most recent single, ‘The Collective Brain’, is available online on all major platforms through The Animal Farm.

Ronan said: “Be sure to catch them for an hour-long set that we are absolutely certain will not disappoint, and in fact discover what all the hype around this supremely talented band is all about!”

Also playing will be Halifax band Violet Disguise who played Keighley Live as well as several shows for Double Denim Life.

Ronan said: “Violet Disguise, with their eclectic DIY sound and raw, powerful lyrics are sure to deliver a mesmerising set.

“Having had their debut song ‘Dreamers’ previewed on BBC Radio Introducing, as well as their sophomore single ‘Bones’, Violet Disguise are a band destined for great things.

Completing the line-up will be indie-rock band McRae, hailing from Burnley and popular in Manchester with their infectious rhythms and light-hearted lyrics.

Doors open on August 31 at 6.45pm, and the gig runs until 10.45pm. Tickets cost £5 Advance through Universe Ticketing, or £6 on the night.
