PLAYLIST-TOPPING band No Fit State will support the Amorettes at their gig in Keighley on September 14.

Leeds rock ‘n’ rollers No Fit State have had a whirlwind year so far, with a strong critical reception to their debut album. The first single, On Your Own, reached number one on the prestigious New Noise playlist on Spotify, amassing 50,000 players worldwide.

Second single Need Your Love, released last month, has achieved praise from around the globe.

Mixing sounds from influences such as Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Howlin’ Wolf and Black Sabbath, No Fit State “borrow from the cradle of the blues and rock ’n’ roll to put their own twist on it”.

The Amorettes are an all-female Scottish hard rock trio who have toured across the UK and Europe and recently supported Queen and Guns ‘n’ Roses at large festivals.

The band, which includes vocalist/guitarist Gill Montgomery, drummer Hannah McKay and bass player Heather McKay, have been described by critics as “like Airbourne fronted by Joan Jett” and a “female Motorhead”.

The gig promoters say: “Anyone who’s ever experienced an Amorettes live show can easily testify to the buzz of expectation that kicks in as soon the lights go down.” The concert will be at the Octagon club on Bradford Road, Sandbeds, from 8pm.
