THE GROOVY Happening is set to top £30,000 raised for Manorlands before the end of the year.
Organisers of the monthly live music night in Haworth have already raised £29,400 for the Oxenhope hospice, and still have four events to go before the end of 2018.
The next Groovy will be on Saturday, September 1 at 7.30pm in the usual venue, the Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane, with another line-up of musicians and bands.
Groovy spokesman Ann Wiles said: “The fundraising total is all thanks to all the brilliant musicians and wonderful audiences, and we promise live music to get people dancing again in September.”
September 1 will see experienced solo acoustic singer John Bruce making a rare appearance with the band, playing pop and rock songs.
Alternative rock band General James Blakk will play a range of famous and lesser-known covers.
Haworth-born Nathan Harrison will perform his solo act influenced by percussive folk musicians like Newton Faulkner, Andy McKee, and John Butler.
Local singer-songwriter Gordon Roger will appear at the Groovy for the third time with 70s-influenced material and covers.
