THERE’S no pulling the wool over the eyes of Silsden Moor husband-and-wife team Jeff and Judith Throup.
They were victorious in the Suffolk gimmer lambs class at Skipton Auction Mart’s latest fortnightly store and breeding sheep fixture.
It featured the second annual Suffolk Day, including breed shows for pedigree rams and gimmer and store lambs.
The Throups, of Snow Hill Farm, have only been breeding Suffolks out of their mule ewes for three years.
Their success, with a pen of 20 home-bred lambs, followed a second prize at last year’s corresponding fixture.
The winning animals sold for a top price of £96 per head to the rams show judge, Thomas Walmsley.
Keen interest was shown at the event, with a 70 per cent clearance rate achieved.
