KEIGHLEY Model Railway Club will next month hold its 10th annual 7mm Festival. The festival for fans of O gauge trains and layouts has grown over the past decade to become an established part of the national calendar.

Several visitors will display their layouts alongside award-winning layouts created by the club’s own O gauge specialists.

Club spokesman Stephen Ward said: “The Keighley 7mm Group has been well known throughout the modeling world for almost 40 years for creating some of the country’s most sought-after exhibition-standard layouts, winning many awards along the way.

“Its members and their layouts have contributed towards a number of books, videos and television features, and have been an integral part of the Keighley Model Railway Club and its annual exhibition each March.

“Over the past nine years the festival has matured into an established event in the O gauge calendar, featuring around 10 club and guest layouts. These are supported by dedicated O gauge traders, clinics and displays from established groups and individuals.

“A bring-and-buy table will also be offering bargains to anyone interested in the scale. Excellent catering will once again be provided by the Denholme Scouts with a range of hot and cold food and home-made cakes throughout the day.”

The 7mm Festival will be held at the club’s extensive rooms in Knowle Mill, South Street, on Sunday, October 14 from 10am to 4.30pm. Visit keighley-mrc.org.uk for further information.
