COMEDY will again hit the heights as a Cowling adventure centre stages its latest fundraiser.

The High Adventure Centre is inviting three stand-up comedians to perform at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton on November 16.

Performances by Dan Nightingale, Bethany Black and Mark Nelson will benefit charities including the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Dan Nightingale, described as a one-man comedy machine, will act as the MC for the night.

Originally from Preston, Nightingale started his comedy career in Newcastle in 2002. Working at the Hyena Comedy Café as a sound man for six months, he finally got on stage.

Bethany Black is described as decidedly dark and deliciously different. From Chorley in Lancashire, she is described as Britain’s only goth, lesbian, transsexual comedian, known for performing black comedy dealing with controversial subjects.

She started her comedy career at the age of 25, first as a compere for a music club in Preston. Most of her comedy is a combination of observational comedy mixed with innuendo.

Mark Nelson is regarded as one of the UK’s biggest-hitting comedy powerhouses.

Starting out in 2005, he established himself on the comedy circuit by scooping the coveted Scottish Comedian of the Year title the following year.

His mix of dark humour, cutting observations and clever one-liners mean Nelson has become a solidly consistent and excellent stand-up to be reckoned with.

The doors and the bar will open at 7pm, and the laughter will begin at 8pm. Tickets cost £15. The Rendezvous Hotel is providing all its facilities for free.
