A SHORT film produced by a Keighley father and his sons has been selected for an international film festival.

Sabir Hussain, known as Saby Khan, also acts in the film, which is called “Prey on Young” and is about how drug dealers lure youngsters into a life of crime.

Saby, whose three sons are cast members in the film, explained it had been chosen for the Yonkers Film Festival, which takes place near New York in November.

He said: “My sons Samad, a former media student at Craven College, Islam, who goes to South Craven School and Ayman, who is at University Academy Keighley, helped me direct the film.

“It’s about a family who move to Keighley and come into contact with drug dealers who try to convince children to sell drugs.

“The script and production was put together by myself and my children. We sat down and did some brainstorming to come up with ideas to make the story effective.

“Once we’d finished and uploaded the film to Youtube, we received a lot of positive feedback. Prey on Young was one of 25 films short listed from 450 films. It’s exciting that this prestigious film festival has selected us for an international category.”

The film was shot at Devonshire Park, Redcar Tarn, and off Fell Lane in Keighley.

Saby is a radio presenter and media consultant, who has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry including The Outlawz , Black Eyed Peas and 50 Cent.

He said: “I’m preparing for my next project, an anti-bullying film, which will be shot in Keighley and Bradford. It’ll be based on a story written by Dr Sairah Qureshi, who is an anti bullying specialist and founder of Action Against Bullying.

“The name of this film is yet to be decided, and we’re looking for volunteers to participate.” People can follow Saby Khan Media for updates at facebook.com/sabykhanmedia , or e-mail goodfellaz_uk@hotmail.com
