AN alpine nursery has continued to blossom – despite the pandemic.
Oxenhope Gardening Club heard that although restrictions prevented people from visiting Slack Top Alpine Nursery and Garden in person, the business had been exceptionally busy – and still is – with online sales.
Michael and Alison Mitchell, from the gold-medal-winning nursery, gave an illustrated talk to the club.
They explained how to create an alpine trough and advised on the best alpine plants to grow in this area.
A club spokesperson said: "With over 30 years' experience, Slack Top is renowned for growing tough alpine plants that flourish in the Pennine elements."
At the next meeting, on Thursday, March 17, Paul Cook – the Kew-trained curator at Harlow Carr, Harrogate – will give a presentation on The Changing Face of Harlow Carr.
Meetings are held monthly at Oxenhope Community Centre, between 7.30pm and 9pm.
