GROWING and using culinary herbs will be the subject of a talk in Glusburn.

Anyone is welcome to attend the event, being held – by Glusburn & Cross Hills Gardening Society – at the community and arts centre, in Colne Road, on Friday, April 15, at 7.30pm.

The speaker is Paul Turner, of Garth Cottage Nursery, Newby Wiske.

"He and Chris Turner have run the nursery for two decades and are renowned for the growing and use of culinary herbs – and many will be available to buy on the evening!" said a society spokesperson.

"The couple are also experts in growing rhubarb, figs, garlic and chillies."

Further information about the event and other future society meetings can be obtained from Derek Blackwell on 07834 713735.
