* I AM incredibly humbled by the huge show of support in last week's local elections, which saw me re-elected with 2,554 votes – a majority of 1,258.

Thanks to everyone who voted. I will continue to work hard for Keighley East and our people – I will be here to represent you whether you put a cross in my box or not, or if you didn't vote at all.

Thanks also to everyone who helped with my campaign, this was a team effort and I couldn't be more grateful for your help and kindness. We can be proud of the clean, positive campaign we’ve run. Particular thanks to my colleagues Cllr Malcolm Slater and Cllr Doreen Lee and my family for their unwavering support.

Caroline Firth, re-elected Labour district councillor, Keighley East

* I WOULD like to thank the voters in Keighley West who supported me in the local election.

I am delighted to have been re-elected to represent the ward for the next four years.

I would also like to mention the other candidates who gave voters the chance to choose from such a wide range of opinions. I think it shows that the democratic process is alive and well in my ward. Long may it continue.

Paul Godwin, councillor for Keighley West

* I WISH to thank everyone for their support over the last four years in my term of office as Craven ward district councillor.

It has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve the residents of Addingham, Silsden, Steeton and Eastburn. I have enjoyed being able to help on a huge array of ward issues and am disappointed that I will not have the opportunity to complete on a number of projects that are ready to be rolled out.

I sincerely thank all those residents who voted for me in the recent local elections and for your kind comments both before and after the election. Unfortunately it was not, on this occasion, sufficient to be re-elected. I wish the new Cllr Whitaker good luck in her ward role.

I will be continuing my work as the deputy mayor on Silsden Town Council – elected for the fourth consecutive year – and look forward, as always, to do my best to deliver for the local residents in our area.

Rebecca Whitaker, former Conservative district councillor for Craven ward & Silsden deputy town mayor
