STUDENTS from Holy Family School in Keighley have put their best foot forward.
Over a dozen pupils walked along the canal towpath to Silsden in support of the Walk Against Hunger, an initiative staged by the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD).
At Silsden, they visited Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. They were welcomed by Father Michael Mclaughlin, who spoke about CAFOD and how the students’ efforts locally would have a global effect.
Event organiser Clare Pullan said: "This was very much a token gesture as it was the first major fundraiser outside of school since lockdown, so we were a little cautious when making the arrangements – hence only going the few miles to Silsden.
"Also, fundraising was only part of the point – it was an awareness-raising exercise too. Despite lockdown, and more recently the situation in Ukraine, we must not forget ongoing problems in the world."
