A POPULAR Haworth show which hasn't been held for two years due to the pandemic returns next weekend.

The 102nd Haworth & District Gardeners' Show takes place at the village hall, in Butt Lane, on Sunday, August 28.

It will open to the public at 2pm.

There are 105 classes covering vegetables, flowers, produce, handicrafts and photography.

Subjects in the photography class will be the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway or a flower, sized 6x4ins with no border or mounting.

There are also nine children's classes – across three age groups – and beginners' classes for those who have never entered before.

Attractions will also include a tombola, raffle and refreshments.

And at the end of the show – at around 4pm – following the presentation of trophies, produce will be auctioned in aid of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands.

Manorlands supports patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the hospice and in the community, across an area including Craven and Airedale.

All services are free to the patients and their loved ones, but it costs £10,000 a day to keep the hospice doors open and only a small part of the cost is covered by statutory funding.
