KEIGHLEY-district parents and guardians are being urged to talk to their children about electricity safety.
With lighter evenings around the corner, Northern Powergrid is encouraging adults to help promote the 'play safe' message.
The company says it's essential children realise the importance of staying away from the power network, including substations and overhead power lines.
Gareth Pearson, for Northern Powergrid, says: "We understand that people’s everyday lives are busy, but a simple two-minute chat will remind your children about the potential hazards and help them understand the dangers.
"Making sure they know to contact Northern Powergrid by calling 105 if they accidentally kick their football into a substation or spot something hanging from our power lines could potentially save a life.
"We've created an animation to help parents talk to children, which can also be shared with them, about the dangers of electricity."
