JEAN Park-Goldthorp, from Silsden held a Mat Hatter’s themed tea party with family and friends to celebrate her 80th birthday.
Instead of gifts, party guests were asked to donate money to Cancer Support Yorkshire’s Skipton Centre, and Jean recently went along to the centre on Otley Street to hand over the donations which amounted to £830 - far exceeding the charity's expectations.
Linda Enderby, charity fundraiser said: “We are here to provide practical and emotional support to local people affected by a cancer diagnosis. All services are free of charge and the kind donations received help to make this possible. Therefore, the money raised by Jean is valued and very much appreciated by everyone here at Cancer Support Yorkshire.”
