A HOST of activities from crafts to dancing is taking place at district libraries over the school spring bank holidays.

There will be a number of story and craft sessions based around the theme of flowers, birds and animals.

Venues include Silsden Library, where families can enjoy a story, and make 'glide bugs' and pin wheels, on Wednesday, May 31, at 11am.

Booking is not necessary, but any large groups planning to attend should contact the library in advance.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's portfolio holder for healthy people and places, says: "These sessions are a great way to keep children entertained over half term at the same time as learning to enjoy books and libraries, which are a great foundation for future learning."

Also, Living Well Bradford is working with the libraries service to encourage families to take part in 20 minutes of movement.

Bollywood dance teacher and author Salma Zaman is visiting several libraries district-wide to read from her picture book Help!!! I Can’t Dance Without My Bhangra Pants, and to lead a Bhangra dancing taster session.

She will be at Keighley Library on Friday, June 2, from 10.30am to 11.30am. Places must be booked through the library.
