PEOPLE across the Keighley district are being urged to give their views on road safety priorities.

Public feedback is being sought on what more should be done around issues such as speeding and dangerous driving, or to improve road layouts.

Results from the survey will help shape the West Yorkshire Vision Zero strategy, which aims to eliminate fatalities and severe injuries in road accidents by 2040.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the police, local authorities, the fire and rescue service and National Highways are all involved in developing the strategy.

Alison Lowe, West Yorkshire's deputy mayor for policing and crime and chair of the Vision Zero board, says: "We are determined to create a safer, fairer West Yorkshire and firmly believe that no death or serious injury is acceptable on our roads.

"Whilst we are under no illusion about the size of the task ahead, we must do all we can to make the vision a reality. We don’t want anyone to suffer the pain of losing a loved one in these circumstances.

"It’s really important that we get as many views as possible to inform the strategy so I would encourage everyone to have their say."
